You can choose to configure your Rain computer with either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7.

Windows 7 [32-bit]
A 32-bit operating system can address a maximum of 4GB of memory. However, if compatibility is a concern, choosing this option is the best way to ensure that all your software and hardware will work with your new computer.

Windows 7 Pro [64-bit]
With a 64-bit operating system, you can configure your computer with the maximum amount of memory available. Keep in mind that some software and hardware may not be compatible with a 64-bit operating system. Most modern creative software is now 64-bit compatible. Check with the manufacturer of your audio interface to make sure there are stable 64-bit drivers available.

You Rain computer is powered by an Intel "Clarkdale" Core i3 Dual-Core processor up to 3.06GHz. Featuring Intel Hyper-Threading and HD Graphics technology, this new generation of dual-core processors packs a huge punch for a very low price.

Your Rain computer uses 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel memory. By using matched pairs of memory modules, overall performance is increased. The memory in your Rain computer is designed for high reliability, low latency and low heat.

Unlike a hard drive, Random Access Memory (RAM) has no moving parts. So data transfer is many times faster than a conventional hard drive. The combination of a powerful processor and a large amount of main memory creates a system capable of more tracks, effects, layers, plug-ins and virtual instruments.

The hard drives in your Rain computer are engineered for high speed data transfer. Each drive operates at 7200RPM, using a large cache or buffer to prevent the data bottlenecks that lead to glitches, dropouts and distortion.

The StormDrive optical drive in your Rain computer is designed to produce low heat and noise. Connected via SATA II with a 2MB buffer, you can burn and play CD's, DVD's and Blu-Ray DVD's for backup, file sharing or distribution.

If you plan to upgrade your Rain computer with more memory, hard drives, expansion cards and other devices, a high wattage power supply is a good idea.

Your Rain computer includes a 500W PSU designed for low heat and low noise operation. Optional upgrades include a 500W and 750W power supply recommended for high bandwidth expansion cards like video capture devices, SLI or Crossfire graphics and DSP cards like the UAD-2 Quad.

Though your Rain computer includes a wired, gigabit ethernet port, you can also add a wireless card to connect to a high speed, wireless internet connection for networking, file sharing and surfing the web.

The optional wireless adapter has been tested and certified by Rain for use with popular creative software and hardware without interference or performance issues.
